Herts Urgent Care is expected to meet the following national standards:

• Standards for Better Health– updated April 2006 (Department of Health)
• National Quality Requirements in the delivery of out-of-hours services 2006 (Department of Health)

These standards set out the quality of service we must provide with regards to:

• Waiting times
• Accessibility of our service (telephone and centres)
• GP’s performance
• Patient satisfaction
• Our ability to manage demand for our service
• Safety
• Communication between Herts Urgent Care and local GP surgeries

Our performance against the National standards is monitored by the PCTs, and we are held to account at regular meetings about our service.
